UAE Olympic Committee Reviews Sports Federation Support for Upcoming Events with UAE NADA Participation

The UAE Olympic Committee, represented by its Technical and Sports Affairs Department and Sports Medicine Committee, held a two-day joint virtual meeting with sports federations, with the participation of the UAE National Anti-Doping Agency (UAE NADA), to discuss preparations for the sporting events taking place this year at various levels.

Attendees discussed the agenda of sporting events in which UAE athletes will compete in 2026, namely the 20th Asian Games, to be held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, from 19 September to 4 October this year, and the 4th Youth Olympic Games, scheduled to take place in Dakar, Republic of Senegal, from 31 October to 13 November.

During the meeting, attendees reviewed the key areas related to preparations for these major events and the accompanying procedures and steps, with a view to achieving the desired objectives, particularly those related to athlete safety and ensuring full awareness of all health instructions and various standards issued by the organising committees.

Attendees were also briefed on the list of vaccinations and travel-related health procedures, anti-doping tests, and related prevention and awareness measures. The meeting emphasised the need for athletes and relevant delegation members to complete the ADEL course, in accordance with the requirements of the Olympic Council of Asia and other relevant entities. It also reviewed the administrative and logistical arrangements for the departure and arrival of the sports delegations participating in the upcoming multi-sport events.

The UAE Olympic Committee remains committed to working side by side with sports federations, in cooperation with relevant national entities, to adopt best practices and activate continuous coordination in pursuit of the desired results, reflecting positively on the performance of sports delegations as they represent the nation and strive to keep its flag flying high on every occasion.
