Al Tayeb: Al-Matrooshi will be a difficult figure for UAE sports

Ahmed Al Tayeb, director of the UAE delegation to the Olympic Games in Tokyo, described the participation of swimmer Yousuf Al Matrooshi as promising, given the great enthusiasm and passion that everyone felt, stressing that he will be one of the athletes we rely on to achieve high records for UAE sports during the next stage and achieve an Asian medal for UAE swimming in the Asian Games Tournament next year. We are also confident that he will qualify for the Paris Olympics in 2024 through his personal records, his honorable and advanced level without waiting for invitations.

Al Tayeb expressed his gratitude to all the work teams of the National Olympic Committee, whether those among the sports delegation in Tokyo or those performing their work from UAE in continuous coordination and communication with athletes, federations and the country’s embassy in Tokyo, which contributed to overcome all the difficulties and challenges that faced the sports delegation in light of the exceptional circumstances and the procedures followed implemented by the Organizing Committee; praising the commitment and cooperation of everyone to implement the health regulations and guidelines issued by the competent authorities in Japan, wishing more support by the participating delegations in preserving all the gains, and conveying the idea, message and correct image of Emirati sports.
