National Sports Day Executive reviews the preparations for the 8th edition of the event.

According to the decision of the Executive Office of the National Olympic Committee, the executive team of the 8th edition of the National Sports Day initiative discussed in its first meeting after its formation ways to make the prominent community event succeed, which will be launched on the second of next March, after various successes achieved over all its past seven editions under the theme "The UAE brings us together."

This was during a team meeting that was held today, Thursday, via video conferencing, chaired by Engineer Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, and in the presence of each of the members, Her Excellency Eng. Azza bint Sulaiman, Assistant Secretary-General for Administrative and Financial Affairs of the National Olympic Committee, Mohammed bin Darwish, Executive Director of the Olympic Committee, Ahmed Al Abdouli, Director of the Community Sports Department at the General Sports Authority, Brigadier General Obaid Ali Al Mansouri, Director of the Media and Corporate Communication Directorate at the National Service and Reserve Authority, Sharif Al-Awadi, Representative of the Emirate of Fujairah, Abdullah Sultan, Representative of the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain, Fahd Abdullah bin Juma, Representative of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, Dr. Fatma Kalbat, Director of the Guidance and Well-being Department at the Ministry of Education, Alanoud Al Falasi from the Office of the Assistant Undersecretary for the Support Services Sector at the Ministry of Health and Prevention, Naser Al Zaabi, Counselor at the Ministry of Community Development, Mohammed Al Shateri and Nasser Al Marri from the Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC), Omar Al Kindi, Senior Specialist in Community Sports at the Dubai Sports Council (DSC), Yasser Al Dokhi, Director of Sports and Community Events Department at the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC), and Dr. Hamid Khamis from the Police Sports Association.

The Executive Team of the eighth edition of the National Sports Day praised the precious confidence of the Executive Office of the National Olympic Committee to provide constructive ideas and proposals from all members who have accumulated and diverse experiences, particularly as they represent national and sports institutions shared the same objectives of the event, which is launched annually; in response to an invitation of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to prepare the National Sports Day to reflect the unity and cohesion of the UAE society and the harmony of all different age groups by investing in movement, sports, recreational, entertainment, community, educational and competitive activities.

During the meeting, the participants addressed a range of ideas and proposals for the event agenda in conjunction with the event, stressing the need to submit the approved agenda to the Executive Team before the event and to learn about the different perceptions and recommendations of the team members that contribute to achieving the intended objectives of the initiative.
