Our National Fencing Team won the historic silver medals in the Fleuret (Foil) and Épée competitions at the 15th Pan Arab Games hosted by Algeria from July 5th to 15th, under the slogan "With sports we rise, and in Algeria we meet".

The men's team was represented by the runner-up to the "Fleuret" competition, namely: Hamad Al-Jallaf; Khalid Al-Marzouqi; and Khalifa Al-Kaabi, while the women's team, the "Épée" silver medalists, included Fajr Al-Marzouqi, Zainab Al-Hosani, and Sheikha Al-Zaabi.

The UAE's medal balance has risen to 13, and these numbers will continue rising, especially, after winning two silver medals in fencing, and two bronze medals in boxing by Jawaher Al Amiri, who won third place in the 48 kg competition, and Haya Jassim, who won third place "repeated" in the 52 kg competition. The two bronze medals are the first for the women's boxing team throughout our participation in the Pan Arab Games.

Historic Achievement

Sheikh Eng. Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, President of the Arab and United Arab Emirates Fencing Federation, who attended the second day's competitions, congratulated the male and female players, praising the historic achievement of UAE fencing in the "Pan Arab Games". He also congratulated the team's administrative director, Ali Jaber Al-Marzouqi, and the technical staff, made up of Fleuret coach Osama Adel Qandil and Russian Épée coach Georgi Lamanov.

His Excellency Sultan bin Mejren, head of the UAE sports delegation participating in the Arab Games, praised the brilliance of our male and female players in all competitions of the 15th edition of the Arab Games, including the fencing team. Good Results

His Excellency Sultan bin Mejren added that the results are good in addition to the performance made by the Emiratis in the Pan Arab Games so far. Despite the short period of time in the preparation period, the participation was distinguished over the past days and calls for pride, especially in light of the participation of many teams with promising people and names competing in foreign events for the first time, affirming that the people of the UAE are able to raise the medal bag and promote the balance of achievements before the end of the Pan Arab Games.

Women's Volleyball Team

On the other hand, our women's volleyball team will play the match for the third and fourth places at ten in the morning (Friday) against Jordan after losing to its Tunisian counterpart 0-3 in the match that was played (Wednesday) at Harsha Hassan Hall , in the presence of His Excellency/ Yousef Saif Khamis Seubaa Al-Ali; Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Algeria, Sheikha Hayat bint AbdulAziz Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Union of Arab National Olympic Committees, and Counselor Mona Al Shamsi, President of the Appeal Committee of the Pan Arab Games.

The UAE ambassador met with the players of the volleyball team after the match, and praised the performance of the players and their efforts in the matches they played in the championship, despite the victory of the Tunisian team, which is due to the experience difference, pointing out that the rules of honest competition require accepting losses because everyone is a winner in the arena of sports competition.

The end of the Fencing Games

The UAE Fencing Team ended its competition "Wednesday", where the men's fencing team lost in the Épée competition against the Kuwait team, which includes Abdulaziz Al-Shatti, the Arab champion, and Hassan Al-Foudri, the Asian bronze medalist, 32-44 in the match that was played in the round of 8 of the Épée team competition.
