UAE National Olympic Committee Discusses Enhancing Cooperation with Albanian Counterpart



His Excellency Fidel Ylli, President of the Albanian National Olympic Committee, met with His Excellency Major General Mohammed Al Murr, His Excellency Ahmed Abd El Malik, His Excellency Qais Al-Dhali, Her Excellency Nouria Al Jasmi, His Excellency Abdulaziz Al Salman, members of the Board of Directors of the UAE National Olympic Committee in Dubai. The meeting aimed to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries in support of the Olympic movement, for the benefit of all its stakeholders.

At the outset of the meeting, the NOC Board members conveyed the greetings of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, President of the UAE National Olympic Committee, to the visiting guest. They expressed their pride in this visit to the headquarters of the UAE National Olympic Committee.

The two sides discussed the latest developments and key participations in the sports arena, including the Winter Youth Olympic Games currently being held in South Korea with 1900 athletes from 80 National Olympic Committees from around the world. The UAE is participating for the first time in its history.

The guest was briefed about the 1st Gulf Games Youth Edition, which the United Arab Emirates will host in April. It will witness the participation of 2000 male and female athletes from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. The Games are a landmark event on the annual sports calendar given their timing before major upcoming competitions for Gulf athletes.

The meeting also covered opportunities to activate partnerships between the two countries through training camps and workshops. This would ensure an exchange of expertise and sharing of successful experiences across all areas of Olympic work.
